#Right2FoodUOC campaign

The importance of knowing where what we eat comes from, the resources needed to transport food from the field to the fork or the impact our decisions as consumers have on the environment are some of the questions to be looked at by the experts from the UOC’s Faculty of Health Sciences during Right to Food Week.

If you’d like to find out about their advice, about local, seasonal, sustainable and healthy recipes, about interesting information and data on buying local and seasonal produce, follow the @UOCuniversity and @UOCesalut Twitter accounts or the #Right2FoodUOC hashtag.

Take part on social media!

Where’s that tomato in your salad come from? And the meat in your stew?

Buying local and seasonal produce helps the sustainability of the planet, improves your health and contributes to the global economy.

Over the week, take a photo of your meal and upload it to Instagram or Twitter with the #Right2FoodUOC hashtag and tell us where the ingredients have come from.

Together we can promote produce that’s sourced locally and in season.

3 December: visit and workshop at the Baix Llobregat Agriculture Park

The land that forms the Baix Llobregat Agriculture Park represents a cultural, economic and ecological treasure, despite being right in the middle of one’s the most densely populated parts of Catalonia. It is also one of the oldest and most fertile agricultural areas in the region.

To find out more, we’ll visit Masia de Can Comes, the park’s management and information centre. We’ll learn how to manage the land and the production, and about what they’re doing to promote responsible agriculture and respect for the natural environment. We’ll also take part in a workshop to raise awareness of the importance of consuming more responsibly.

When: 10 am to 1:30 pm
Where: Masia de Comes, Baix Llobregat Agriculture Park. Camí de la Ribera, s/n
Organized by: the UOC’s Globalization and Cooperation department and the Privada Sigea Foundation
